I started creating visual notes when I attended DIS 2023 in Pittsburgh, USA. Coming in from Melbourne, Australia, I was quite jetlagged. I knew I needed to keep myself occupied during presentations to prevent myself from dozing off. My solution was to create visual notes in my sketchbook. An added bonus was that I created my very own keepsakes of the presentation with visual reminders.
All visual notes are completed during the presentation. This means I can delight presenters with visualisations of their work right after they finish their presentation.
